A new Learning Resource Centre was to be developed within an existing under utilised and dilapidated gymnasium block.
Following a detailed survey in conjunction with our in-house building surveyors and external structural engineers, a design was produced which enabled a two storey resource centre to be created, incorporating a library and resource area to the ground floor with quiet study and working areas in a galleried upper floor making maximum use of available space without compromising natural light and supervision.

This scheme was developed in three phases over a 2-year period, the first phase comprising an extension to the rear of the school to provide new art rooms and toilet facilities for infant age children.
The second phase entailed a sympathetically designed two-storey extension to the original Victorian School, providing community rooms, offices and ancillary facilities, served by a new staircase and passenger lift to make the building fully accessible to all community groups.
The final phase was the creation of a new single storey community room, training kitchen along with internal remodelling of the Caretakers house to provide ancillary offices.
